Oxford Living was founded with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ambitious goal of being the Canadian leader in senior living. Our retirement communities are are comfortable, dependable and affordable.
Our leadership team has a wealth of experience in both the senior living and hospitality sectors, having owned and operated more than three billion dollars in assets. We have developed, owned and operated every type of senior housing facility in every Canadian province and more than 20 US states. On the hospitality front, we have acquired, developed, owned and operated approximately 13,000 hotel suites across North America.

John W. Rutledge
Chief Executive Officer
A real estate entrepreneur and private equity investor, Mr. Rutledge is the Founder, President and CEO of Oxford Capital Group, LLC, a real estate investment, management and development firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. He is also the Founder, President and CEO of Oxford Hotels and Resorts, LLC., which specializes in operating, managing and branding distinctive, high design lifestyle hotels and food & beverage venues, and Founder and CEO of Oxford Living LLC, an affiliate which acquires, manages and develops seniors housing properties throughout North America.
Oxford, its affiliates and principals have successfully sponsored, co-sponsored and/or participated in the investment, acquisition and/or development of approximately $3 billion of hotel real estate across approximately 13,000 hotel rooms including approximately 5,000 employees.
John and his various projects have been nominated and won numerous awards, he has been a regular judge at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business New Venture Challenge and a guest speaker at Northwestern’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He has held a number of board seats and executive positions with a variety of community, industry and cultural organizations. John graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and an emphasis in Real Estate. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business with an emphasis in International Finance and Economics. He has also studied at Northwestern University, Harvard Business School (President’s Program) and Oxford University (Christ Church).
A devoted family man, John tries to live by a personal and professional ethos of integrity, discipline, hard work, a collaborative and empathetic style, a positive attitude, a growth mentality, an enthusiastic zest for all aspects of life and a belief that nearly anything is possible. He is a voracious reader who loves biographical, business, social, architectural, political and military history. He also enjoys chess, genealogy, art, cinema, classic boats, architecture, nutrition, the scouting movement and sports of all kinds.
Lawrence B. Cummings
President
Larry is a Chicago native with over 25 years’ experience in commercial real estate. His track record encompasses the hospitality, office, retail and senior housing sectors. He has served as a principal in both privately held and publicly traded companies. Larry joined Oxford Capital and its affiliates in 2000 as a senior advisor for hospitality and senior housing transactions, and became a Managing Director at Oxford in 2005 and a Senior Managing Director in 2006.
Larry’s experience also includes arranging financing for two publicly held health care real estate companies, AmServ Inc., and Amerihealth, Inc. He led the acquisition of several portfolios of senior housing real estate assets as well as a Tampa-based institutional pharmacy, actively participating in management of these enterprises. From 1985 through 1989, Larry founded and served as CEO of Common Goal Mortgage Company, at that time the nation’s only lender specializing in senior housing and long-term care. He also served as an officer and board member of Common Goal Capital Group, an affiliated entity that sponsored a publicly registered mortgage fund, which also lent exclusively to the senior housing industry.
Larry graduated from Harvard College in 1976 with a concentration in history. He earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1980, concentrating in real estate and finance. He is a former member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He is also an avid skier and tennis player. Larry enjoys international travel and reads widely. His primary interests are history, biography, architecture, classic literature and politics.
Scott Vecile
Chief Financial Officer
Scott began his seniors housing career in 2004 with Spectrum Senior Housing (Chartwell’s development arm) specializing in market and financial analysis, before joining Chartwell in 2008 in an asset management role focused on strategic property evaluations. Subsequent to his time at Chartwell, Scott continued to consult on seniors housing projects, and also began performing business valuations, mergers and acquisitions and capital raising initiatives in other sectors. Prior to co-founding Oxford Living, Scott was Vice President at a mid-market merchant/investment bank where he completed numerous M&A deals, financings and industry roll-ups for private equity and institutional partners.
Scott’s academic credentials include a Commerce degree from Ryerson University and an MBA from McMaster University with a major in Strategic Business Valuation. Scott is also a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV).
Prior to co-founding Oxford Living, he was Vice President at a mid-market investment/merchant bank where he completed numerous mid-market M&A deals and financings across several sectors. Scott’s seniors housing experience began with Spectrum Seniors Housing in 2004, specializing in market analysis and development financing, before joining Chartwell Retirement Residences in an asset management role in 2008.
Scott’s interests include hockey, golf, camping and spending time with family. His academic credentials include a Commerce degree from Ryerson University and an MBA from McMaster University with a major in Strategic Business Valuation. Scott is also a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV).
Anthony Guidoccio
Chief Operating Officer
Tony has been a developer, owner and operator of senior living communities for more than 35 years, he has successfully built, owned and operated every type of asset in the sector.
Tony is methodical with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for maximizing resident and employee satisfaction. His strong analysis and budgeting skills are bolstered by a knowledge of strategic planning, performance improvement and regulatory requirements.
Growing up in Sudbury, Ontario, Tony attended University of Waterloo where he studied Honours Mathematic, before returning to Northern Ontario to marry his sweetheart, Judy. Recently, he and Judy relocated to Southern Ontario to be closer to their three daughters.
Ashley Bernardo
Director of Sales and Resident Experience
Ashley brings sales leadership and project management expertise to the planning and deployment of strategic initiatives throughout the organization. She also works with communities to develop and deliver engaging experiences for residents and families and strives to maintain high levels of satisfaction among our residents, families and employees.
Before joining Oxford Living, Ashley worked for Revera Living in progressively senior positions on the Company’s information technology, innovation and project management teams. Ashley attended Conestoga College in Kitchener where she studied Business Management.
Jen Sylvestri
Director of Operations
Jen has worked in the healthcare sector since 1997 and has over 15 years of experience in seniors housing. She joined Oxford Living in December 2018 and is responsible for operations, payroll, and expense management across all Oxford Living communities. In addition, Jen has utilized her industry experience and expertise to optimize staffing patterns and budgeting to maximize efficiency while ensuring the needs of the residents are met or exceeded.
Prior to joining Oxford, Jen held progressive positions with the Walford Group Retirement Homes located in Northern Ontario, ultimately serving as Director of Operations. With Walford she was involved in the management of six properties (four of which were acquired by Oxford Living in 2018). Jen is passionate about health and wellness, family values, and making community connections.
Jiji Sedonio, RPN
Director of Compliance and Care Services
Jiji is a registered practical nurse who has spent much of her career working with seniors. Jiji’s career experience includes roles as a medical instructor, care coordinator and director of care.
Jiji supports our wellness team as well as compliance and policy management.
Anthony Rizzo
Director of Operations
Anthony began his career in the retirement sector in 2005 and held progressive positions at Chartwell, Viva Retirement Communities and Signature Retirement Living over the years. His specialization lies in food and beverage management, where he excels in providing exceptional culinary experiences. From menu planning to sourcing quality ingredients, he ensures that every dining experience exceeds expectations. Moreover, Anthony implements strategies to optimize resources and streamline processes, resulting in cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
Kevin Tikaprasad, CA
Controller
As accountants go, Kevin breaks the mold. He is a highly entrepreneurial and creative professional, with some ten years of experience, with an accounting focus and personal passion for real estate. Kevin has deep experience managing both multi-residential and commercial assets, in both the private and public sectors.
Kevin has expertise in; management of internal and external stakeholder relationships; process improvement initiates to drive rapid growth; financial reporting (IFRS & ASPE); Budgeting; and Strategic & Financial Analysis
Prior to joining Oxford, Kevin had been working with Starlight Investments, where he was an integral part of a number of high-performance growth teams. While at Starlight he was involved in many complex accounting transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions and refinancing over his career. Kevin obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University with a specialization in accounting and is a CPA, CA.
Bonnie Judge
Accounts Receivable Clerk
Bonnie is always busy keeping our books in order. Family comes first for Bonnie who adores being a grandmother and taking trips up to her cottage for some rest and relaxation. If you visit Bonnie in her office you will be treated to some good old Rock and Roll and maybe a joke or two.
Shamsuth (“Sam”) Tibrizy
Property Accountant
Sam has experience in multiple industries having worked for more than ten years with a large Canadian accounting firm. He has experience conducting public audits and served clients in banking and hotel management. Sam has extensive experience in corporate reporting, internal controls, and SOX Compliance.
His education qualifications include an MSc in Accounting from the University of Northampton and he holds a CPA, CGA designation and fellowship status with the ACCA, a UK based accounting body.
Regelyn Movida
Accountants Payable Specialist
Originally from the Philippines, Regelyn’s first job was working for a large bank where she served customers and accompanied weekly deposits to a central bank in an armored tank! After arriving in Canada she trained as an Accounting Clerk and secured employment for a large construction company before joining Oxford.
When not working, Reg enjoys spending time with her family and pursuing her favourite hobby – “eating anything and everything”!
Christine Ritchie
Payroll Specialist
Christine is the Payroll Specialist for Oxford Living. She has been in the payroll field for approximately 20 years (starting at the age of 12). The last 5 years she spent working in the mining industry, as the Payroll and Benefits Administrator in New Brunswick, Canada.
When she is not talking in the third person, she tries to bring a positive energy to those she works with. Still living in New Brunswick, enjoying a quieter lifestyle by the water, you will find her wandering around the province with her dogs, Comet and Krill.
