HOW OXFORD IS RESPONDING TO COVID-19

Oxford Living prides itself on providing seniors with a safe, dependable, and comfortable retirement.

Our residences are more than a place to retire. They are home for our residents and their families trust us to care for their loved ones and ensure their continued well-being. This is a privilege and a responsibility we take extremely seriously, and our Oxford Living staff are committed to taking all necessary steps to protect the health of our residents by working to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.

In turn, we are supporting our valued staff by ensuring they have the information, personal protective equipment, and resources needed to do their important job while also protecting their own health.

We recognize that this is a stressful and uncertain time for everyone and that timely information is important to our residents, their families and our staff. Here are some of the tangible ways we are protecting our residents and our staff:

  • We are monitoring all orders, directives and guidance documents that are being communicated to the retirement home industry and are making appropriate changes to our procedures to ensure that we are in keeping with all current standards.
  • we are committed to working collaboratively with Public Health Units, the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) and provincial and local officials to address any and all challenges that may emerge.
  • All of our retirement communities have implemented heightened safety procedures, including but not limited to various physical distancing measures; enhanced cleaning of all common areas and high-touch surfaces; restricting all visitors except “essential visitors”; active screening of all residents and staff (at least twice daily) as well as all persons entering a residence; and isolating and testing symptomatic residents and staff members.
  • If a COVID-19 positive case is identified in one of our retirement residences, we will immediately implement outbreak procedures, in accordance with all prevailing orders and directives, and will report the matter to Public Health and the RHRA.

We are committed to keeping the lines of communication open about all key developments and we encourage our residents, their families and staff to do the same. These are unprecedented times and it is only by working together can we protect one another.

In conclusion, we would like to thank our dedicated staff members and committed families for their continued trust, dedication and support.
