April 13, 2020 Update: COVID-19 Outbreak At Lundy Manor

We are very saddened to report the deaths of two additional residents from causes related to COVID-19, which brings the total number of COVID-19-related deaths at Lundy Manor to 12.

In addition to the above deaths, we can also confirm that there are currently 22 residents and five staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19. On a related note, we can confirm that Niagara Regional Public Health has now tested all Lundy Manor residents and staff.

We are committed to doing everything possible to address the current situation and continue to work very closely with Niagara Regional Public Health, the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) and Government officials. We are also updating our policies and procedures on
an ongoing basis as new orders, directives and guidance are being communicated to the retirement home sector.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the 12 Lundy Manor residents who have died. We are also very aware that the death of our residents is extremely upsetting for other residents and all families who have loved ones in this home.

We would like to thank our incredible (and tireless) team at Lundy Manor, our residents’ families and the heartfelt and very welcome community encouragement we continue to receive during this pandemic. Lundy Manor is especially grateful to Niagara Regional Public Health, Niagara Health
System and Niagara EMS for their assistance during these difficult times.

Finally, please note that we will continue to provide ongoing updates to our families and the public as whole.
